01. Company Background:

Pinhook Bloodstock International (PBI) is an Australian based full service Bloodstock Agency. PBI sources high quality racing, breeding and trading stock for international and local markets.

Pinhook’s primary goal is to establish, maintain and enhance long term relationships with both sellers and buyers of thoroughbred bloodstock. The company was established in 2005 and has since bought and sold over 900 thoroughbreds, valued at over $29 million, which has resulted in hundreds of winners in eight different countries

02. Project Overview & Solution Summary:

In order to establish the brand as a premium provider in both Australia and China, Pinhook needed to redesign their website and replace their logo.

The previous logo was obtained quickly to enable Pinhook to go to market. The logo was only intended to be used in the short term and Pinhook had no source files and no rights of ownership to it.

Pinhook required a new logo that was more in line with the new direction of the business and overall image of the brand.

ABCS redesigned the logo to give it a premium look and feel, and provide Pinhook with full rights and ownership. The production of the logo also included a Visual Identity Guide (VIG)

03. Our Process:

Through a face-to-face workshop, we defined the objectives, positioning, target market and values for Pinhook. This allowed us to compile a comprehensive design brief.

The design process included producing a mood board to establish overall look and feel of the brand. We then came up with a range of initial concepts, chose one with the client and then refined it.

The finished logo was provided in various file formats including JPG, EPS, PNG, Mono and Inverse so it can be used in a range of situations.

The workshop process with Pinhook allowed us to create a brand identity that Pinhook can now use across web, print, social and collateral.

The new logo positions Pinhook as a premium brand and clearly showcases the horse racing industry, their brand name, international presence the fact that they’ve been ‘in the game’ for 10+ years.
